This cutie pie was my first girl of the year. All my clients had boys and I was starting to get a little worried that boys were taking over…until this precious little girl came in. With her mop of beautiful hair and chubby cheeks, I instantly saw her at 5 years old, running around, long hair blowing in the wind and happy as could be. I am incredibly fortunate to have such an amazing job as this. It was such a pleasure working with this new family.
I have a hard time not falling in love with my clients. Maybe it’s because each client is so special to me or because each image I create for them intertwines me with that part of their life but upon meeting this little cutie…I was instantly and helplessly hooked.
Hard not to love those eyes *swoon* and then those lips *double swoon* but add the smile and the giggle that just instantly makes you happy and it’s no wonder why this session was so much fun. It was really more of a play date. She loved running around my studio and I loved having her in it. She added the perfect amount of childhood magic to an already magical Spring day.

What is the Pictures of Hope Foundation?
Pictures of Hope is a charitable organization of professional photographers who provide complimentary, documentary-style, photography sessions to babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and their families. The Pictures of Hope Foundation is comprised of photographers (many of whom are “NICU mothers” themselves) from across the United States and Canada who are dedicated to donating their time to a cause they believe in, and sharing the gift of photography with families in need.
Why Pictures of Hope?
Throughout pregnancy most parents don’t anticipate the possibility of their baby needing to stay in the NICU after birth. Whatever that reason may be, time spent in the NICU is often an unexpected journey for families, a journey full of overwhelming emotions…sadness, confusion, hope, celebration, and unfortunately, at times grief. Throughout this roller coaster of emotions, many parents do not consider the importance of documenting these precious moments in their lives nor do they think about how much they will truly cherish these images years down the road. In some cases, a little extra TLC from the NICU is needed to be sure the little one gets off to the best possible start, for these families on the road to well being, photographs are a wonderful reminder of just how far their little one has come, however, photographs also play a necessary and very important role in the healing process for other families. In the most heart breaking circumstances, photos may be the only tangible keepsakes some parents have of their precious little one. All Pictures of Hope participating photographers are dedicated to providing NICU families with invaluable images you will cherish forever, captured in a sensitive and caring manner.

Oh wow. I was on an extended blog hiatus. My poor blog was crying out for new posts and I neglected it. Such a bad blogger am I!
So I’m just going to do a bulk post of some recent work and will be back to regular blogging again. I have so many amazing things in the works and I’m excited for the holiday season.

To say I’m busy would be putting it mildly. Summer is in full swing and I barely have time to breath. This is giving me a chance to review areas that need to be changed in order to best accomodate every client. So if you are waiting on something please be patient and know I’m working very hard to get things done. I truly have the best clients and ♥ them so much!
This little guy was such a little angel and I really enjoyed photographing him. He was a “third times a charm” kinda guy but who could blame him. Once we got him into a deep sleep he was literally putty in my hands and a dream to photograph.
