1. Last month I began shooting sessions in my NEW STUDIO located in the exchange district downtown.  It’s completely fabulous and spacious.  Gorgeous natural light makes this spot the perfect location to shoot indoors when the weather outside is frightful.  lol  Lots of room for the kiddos to run around and get those beautiful natural shots we all love.  Inquire today about booking your studio session!

PRICING

2. 2010 pricing will be coming into effect in the new year so if you’re wanting to book a session now would be the time to do it in order to lock in the 2009 prices. :)   Contact me asap to reserve your date.  Spring is already filling up!

FRESH FACES CONTEST

3. I’ll be announcing a Fresh Faces contest on December 26th.  I’m looking for the cutest kids in Winnipeg.  Winners will recieve a free session and a complimentary 11×14 print.  Session will take place at my new Studio and must take place in January.  If you think you have the cutest kid…simply email me a snapshot of them with your name and a way to contact you.  Contest will only be open for 1 week and a panel of Judges will pick the winner the day after the contest closes.  I can’t wait to see all the cute kids!! :)

GIVING BACK

4.  Paper doll Photography is committed to giving back through charitable programs and donations.  Starting January 1st I will be donating $5.00 from every session fee to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.  It’s a fantastic way to support a great charity and help to one day end this terrible disease.  By booking with Paper doll you’ll be helping an amazing organization and getting beautiful custom photography for your family!  Now that’s something to feel good about!!

Giving is Awesome Contest | Winnipeg Children’s Photographer

You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography — $1000 worth, to be exact. Whether it’s canvas or albums, prints for Grandma, or a slideshow to watch over and over, it’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $250 print credit. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?

I have teamed up with a group of 4 other Winnipeg photographers for this amazing giveaway. All entries received will be pooled together and the 5 most deserving nominees will receive their session with one of these talented women, chosen at random.

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in Winnipeg. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story to givingisawesome@mts.net

* Not redeemable for cash.

* Prize is non-transferrable.

* Session must be booked by August 2010.

The contest opens December 1st and closes December 20th.  The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve — get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

With love,

Amanda – Paper doll Photography

Giving Back | Winnipeg Newborn Photography

Just a reminder that Paper doll Photography is a participating Photographer with the Pictures of Hope Foundation which provides complimentary Photography services to families with a little one in the NICU. This is something very near and dear to my heart as both of my children spent time in the NICU after they were born.   I am thrilled to be able to use my passion and love of photography to give back to this community. If you or someone you know has a child in the NICU please contact me about setting up a session.

What is the Pictures of Hope Foundation?

Pictures of Hope is a charitable organization of professional photographers who provide complimentary, documentary-style, photography sessions to babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and their families. The Pictures of Hope Foundation is comprised of photographers (many of whom are “NICU mothers” themselves) from across the United States and Canada who are dedicated to donating their time to a cause they believe in, and sharing the gift of photography with families in need.

Why Pictures of Hope?
Throughout pregnancy most parents don’t anticipate the possibility of their baby needing to stay in the NICU after birth. Whatever that reason may be, time spent in the NICU is often an unexpected journey for families, a journey full of overwhelming emotions…sadness, confusion, hope, celebration, and unfortunately, at times grief. Throughout this roller coaster of emotions, many parents do not consider the importance of documenting these precious moments in their lives nor do they think about how much they will truly cherish these images years down the road. In some cases, a little extra TLC from the NICU is needed to be sure the little one gets off to the best possible start, for these families on the road to well being, photographs are a wonderful reminder of just how far their little one has come, however, photographs also play a necessary and very important role in the healing process for other families. In the most heart breaking circumstances, photos may be the only tangible keepsakes some parents have of their precious little one. All Pictures of Hope participating photographers are dedicated to providing NICU families with invaluable images you will cherish forever, captured in a sensitive and caring manner.
